Hi Alex, One thing to be sure to check is what color the seed packet says about color upon ripeness or what the picture shows. Usually a ripe tomato changes color from when it is unripe - even green ones! So when you think one or more of your tomatoes are ripe check for the following: 1. Does it smell ripe, i.e. can you smell that tomato smell vs how the ones you KNOW are unripe smell? 2. Is it shiny or glossy rather than the duller unripe ones? 3. Does it give a bit when you gently squeeze it? 4. Does it feel slightly heavier than an unripe one of the same size? Hope this helps!
Ask the Plant Doctor » yellow leafs and stems on my families tall tomato plant
Hi Alex, "watering on a daily basis" is the likely culprit. Tomatoes like a bit of stress so watering a bit less should help. Do you have an EasyBloom, put it in Monitor mode for a tomato plant and this should help. It certainly helped me with my tomato plants which I had been "loving" too much with too much water!
Ask the Plant Doctor » Fava beans
Thanks. I will plant them in the fall. You should add those details to the plant care page on favas so that everyone can benefit or I would be soaking them tonight! thanks again. Love my EasyBloom.

EasyBloom says: Planting: Soak the newly potted bean seed once and then not water again until the bean germinates. This will prevent the seed from rotting. How long do you soak them for? What should I plant them in? I got them right from a pod but they are hard. Thanks.
