I fourth this, there are a lot of plants I grow that I am familiar with the exact needs of the plant and though we can use monitor to check for these needs it would be far nicer to be matching these readings up with plants. The plants I am working with have been hit or miss, the house plants have been in the data base but most of the edible plants have not as I tend to raise specialty varieties. I can appreciate the impossibility of trying to enter the specifics for every single plant someone out there may be interested in growing but it may not be a bad idea to add a user contributed database, that could denote that the plants data had not been verified by the myfolia team. It would be nice if we could see an answer from one of the myfolia team to see if this idea is in the works or not.

Still hoping to see an answer to this. Thanks. - Aimee
The lady I purchased the plant from told me she had let the plant stay outside in full shade for many months (I knew nothing about the plant but chose to buy it for its striking foliage as the nursery I purchased it from is many hours from my house). Now that I have the plant home and inside (purchased in early September of '09) it seems to be slowly dieing. I did re-pot the hoya as it was in a tiny, flimsy plastic pot with fishing line used to hang it, to a self watering hanging planter. I placed it in am area with similar indirect light throughout the day (I do not have a sunnier location until I can safely move it outside) The specific symptoms are that branches of the plant seem to be drying up and dieing even though the soil is moist and for some reason it is turning the water in the reservoir a rust red. I have searched online at some length and have not found anything that sounds exactly like the problem my plant is having.
I could be wrong about this but I believe you could just give each plant a slightly different location name when you upload the data.

I am in zip code 77477 and I did check that website and it is also incorrect so it makes sense. It shows Houston as an 8b as well, my work zip is 77063 which is in south Houston. However, http://www.usna.usda.gov/Hardzone/hzm-ne1.html as well as most the rest of the web lists Houston as a 9a which matches out temperature ranges far more accurately.

I know this may seem like a minor detail but I am concerned about the website locating me in Zone 8B when I am actually in Zone 9A. I understand they are very close to each other and there may not seem to be a big difference, except that our winters here are a good solid 10 degrees warmer in the winter allowing for certain plants that would not survive without extra assistance in zone 8B. Is there a way for me to correct this as I want to ensure I am looking at plants that really will fit my zone and not be excluded from seeing the zone 9A plants? I am South of Houston, Texas for verification of zone. Thank you for your time.
Hello, I currently have my easybloom monitoring my Hoya Compacta to assist me in diagnosing what is wrong. I have a feeling it may be due to the plants living conditions prior to my purchasing it. Also, is there any chance I could get an ETA on when the plants information will become available? Thank you for your assistance.
