It seems as though I cannot use my laptop to change the mode of the easybloom unless my laptop has an active internet connection. While I can understand why Recommend mode needs access to the web-hosted data base in order to produce a report, I can't figure out what web-hosted resource is needed just to change the mode of the remote sensing device. My garden is in an area where there is no internet connection of any kind. If I want to verify that the sensor is in Recommend mode or change it to Monitor mode or replace the battery on site so I'm sure it will work throughout one complete water cycle, I'm stuck. Even if I take care of setting it while at home where my internet connection is, it is still possible that the battery compartment might be opened accidentally at some point between there and my garden, a two hour drive away, thus resetting the device to Moisture mode and leaving me with no way to reset or verify the function mode when actually in my garden.
