Yes! If you haven't planted Kale yet..then I would suggest you definitely try this tasty green in your garden this year. The cooler the better for Kale, as it does very nice in the spring months. In fact a little frost tends to sweeten the flavor as opposed to excessive heat, which brings out more bitter and off flavors. Just make sure the leaves don't get too big or they will get thick and leathery and not to palatable. If you are just looking for some fun and unique color there are several cultivars that are strictly for ornamental purposes. They can be used fresh in salads and such, but you must pick them very young for this use. Otherwise a quick saute with some garlic and a little sea salt makes for a very tasty side dish indeed!
