peace lilies that water couldn't save

I have 2 peace lilies that have always come back well with a good watering when they were badly wilted just like the plant info talks about. But for some reason, both of them this last time didn't spring back up. I have watered them twice now and the pots actually feel heavy like they still have a lot of water in them but nothing is standing back up. When I looked at the bigger plant a little closer, there is one section of stalk coming out of the dirt that looks a little green but the leaves at the end of it still aren't perking up with the watering. Any ideas on how I'm to revive these plants now? I hope there is still hope for them!
Hello Kadra, We have actually had a case of the wilting Peace Lilies here at PlantSense. The usually culprits of under watering and over watering were taken off the table as by my checking of the sensor readings showed that this was not the case. The next culprit I could think of was a toxic buildup of too much fertilizer. We flushed the plants out well over a few minutes of running water through the soil…and Voila! The plants responded wonderfully and bounced back in just another day or two. Other factors that can wilt your Peace Lily would be any change of environment that would include it being in a sunnier spot than before or in a spot that now has less light. Also any significant change in temperature can affect the lilies as well as any recent repotting of the plants can affect them. Especially if repotted to a much larger container. Don’t keep watering if it is not seeming to help, as over watering can be a factor in wilting as well!
