Black cave...

Apparently my house is a black cave. Every place I put it, it says there is insufficient light to grow plants. Am I doing something wrong. Should the unit be facing a certain direction?
Indoor lighting rarely provides valuable sunlight for plants, and some windows also block certain ranges of light that your plants need. the sensor should be facing torwards the source of light generally speaking. to test your sensor take it outside into a sunny spot and take a reading it should come out a bit more reasonable, as far as in the house perhaps you have low e windows that are blocking certain ranges of light which would make the sensor read low, (Plants also like the block ranges so those wuper efficient windows make your plants sad if that's the case)
