Does Anyone besides me think a soil temp would be great to have on this. The air temp is good but for early spring planting soil temp would also be helpful.
Feature Ideas » australian plants
can you add info re: Banksia, grevillia, etc. as they are catching on in CA and I've decided to base my yard around them
Feature Ideas » What is my zone?
Mary- If you're looking at recommended plants from within a reading, you'll ONLY see plants that are within your zones. When you're browsing the Plant Library, you see all plants. This is a great feature idea, and thanks for suggesting it. Edith

How do I pull up only my zone when finding plants?
Feature Ideas » Multiple Reading Combination
It would be really wonderful to be able to add multiple readings of the same spot/location at different times of year to the database for the algorithms to crunch on. I understand that readings of one spot in June can be vastly different from September due to variables that no reasonable algorithm can take into account (Deciduous trees, structures etc. etc.). If the web site allowed one to combine multiple reading at different times of the year it might really boost the applicability of the recommendations. No change to the device, just the algorithms and the site. Wonderful product. Thank you!
Feature Ideas » remote sensing
This is something I would really like to see the EasyBloom incorporate in its future designs. Being able to receive live feed back at any time would be great. That way I can check how my plants are doing while I'm on vacation or I don't have to trudge out into the pouring rain and retrieve my sensor to see if my plants I'm monitoring like the rain. Great suggestion, Mary. -Nick
Feature Ideas » Provide access to data
I would love access to the raw data. It would be even better if you provided an API to interact with the device. I love my sensor and I think people give that level of access could develop all sorts of interesting uses for the easy bloom. Its a wonderful little device and I think the open source community could really get inventive with it. One thing that I think would be nice to be able to do is to publish a summary of the data elsewhere, ie on my own blog. Which is something I could easily write if I had access to the data.
Feature Ideas » Provide access to data
Hi Edith, I too would like the raw data. Is there a way to export it to an Excel spreadsheet or some MS Access mdb file? I'm also interested in the scaling for the data. Temp, moisture and light units. It only has to be the units for each sensor. I'm not really interested in using it for plant section of problem solving. I want to use it for data collection for climit. Thanks Paul Holowko www.gardeningrhythms.com
Feature Ideas » PH testing
Glade you liked that story. :) -- To answer your question, for flowers in the font I test once a year. In my back yard where i have a rasied garden bed, I check everytime grow something new in that spot. I been using the square foot gardening method and I make my own soil mix. I would guess I've checked the soil from Janurary 2010 till now about 4-5 times already.
Feature Ideas » ability to move the sun sensor away from the body of the easy bloom
You are correct, the top of the sensor measures sunlight. I've heard reports of users attaching the top of the sensor to a branch to get a sunlight reading.
