Plant Care
Planting:
Sow seeds in spring in containers in a cold frame (for protection). Can also propagate by dividing clumps in early spring, using an ax.
Plant Growth:
Deciduous or evergreen grasses. Reed like stems with linear or narrowly lance-shaped leaves. Miscanthus grows best in full sun. The flowers work well for cutting and drying.
Blooming:
Topped with dense, airy panicles of tiny flowers in summer and fall. Showy fall colors.
Soil and Irrigation:
Does best in average, moist, well-drained soil.
